How sustainability is implemented at Stübben?

We attach great importance to sustainability and take care in many different parts of our business to act as environmentally friendly as possible.

Our leather goods are produced exclusively in Europe. We have a production site in Kempen, where all saddles are manufactured, as well as in northwest Spain, where leather accessories such as bridles are produced.

The main focus at Stübben has always been on quality and sustainability. So today we want to claim that during the last 125 years we have managed to have identified the best of each subject in all areas. Thus, all our leathers are environmentally friendly in production, up to 25% lighter and durable in use.

Already the smell of our leather reveals what is important to us, namely to preserve the naturalness of the material. The result is mainly determined by the selection of the rawhide as well as the tanning process (our leather is tanned Metal Free). At Stübben, we only use full-grain leather from the Alpine region, mostly of the "Simmentaler" breed. When cutting the leather, we attach great importance to processing only undamaged areas. This is the only way to preserve properties such as breathability, tear resistance and abrasion resistance. State-of-the-art technology in our workshop helps us to minimize waste during cutting.

We power the equipment in our workshop through a specially installed solar system on our roof.

Shipping is also climate-neutral through our shipping service providers, and we also try to use appropriate box sizes for each order. Recycled paper is used as filling material and our adhesive tape is also made of paper.

The high quality and durability of our products is also not to be neglected in terms of sustainability.
