Unlike humans, who have well-developed calf muscles, horses only have sinewy extensions towards the hoof. The advantage: rapid acceleration during flight behaviour - the disadvantage: the lack of a muscle pump means that metabolic waste products can only be transported back to the heart at a slower rate. The removal takes place via the lymphatic system which is connected in parallel to the blood circulation system.
The lymph then flows into the veins close to the heart. If the lymphatic system is not fully functional, proteins, for example, cannot be removed and tissue hardening develops. Our sport horses are mainly kept in boxes. The result: the natural metabolism is hindered. Increased standing therefore promotes diseases and leads to injuries. The horse regenerates more slowly, structures such as muscles, ligaments and tendons are more susceptible.
THE SOLUTION
This is where the compression stocking EQUI compress comes in, by creating compression at an exactly predetermined position with the required pressure. This brings the vascular valves closer together, stimulates the lymphatic system and creates an effective pumping function.
EQUI compress thus has a prophylactic and lasting effect and for the first time offers a measurable benefit to sport horses and all horses that have to stand more often due to the situation.
THE DEVELOPMENT
In close cooperation with research and teaching, the effects of compression on the vascular system were researched directly on the horse's leg for the first time. With the help of elaborate test procedures, we were therefore able to determine exactly those pressure values that positively influence the horse's vascular system and enable preventive measures to be taken.
Our investigations were accompanied by proven experts in the field of lymphology.

TWO IN ONE
We used the knowledge we gained directly for the development of a new type of product. Our main focus was to pass on the desired pressure values to the vascular system as exclusively as possible and to avoid negative effects such as those caused by too much compression in the wrong place, which can occur, for example, with bandages.
The result of this development is a revolutionary product consisting of a gaiter part and a sock part.
Together they form a highly developed compression system for sport horses - EQUI compress. For the first time, EQUI compress provides the demanding rider with a system that effectively prevents injuries, brings lasting benefits to the horse's health and is easy to use at the same time.
